Conquering Siguniangshan’s Second Peak

Depart from the designated location at the specified time by vehicle, traverse the Balang Mountain Tunnel, and after passing Maobiliang, enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Siguniang before arriving at Siguniangshan Town. In the afternoon, engage in free activities within the town, organizing and checking your equipment.

Today, we venture into Haizi Valley, ascending from Siguniangshan Town all the way to Guozhuangping, with panoramic views of the Four Sisters Mountains along the way. The valley is predominantly covered with alpine meadows, interspersed with patches of shrubbery and forests, boasting an exceptionally high vegetation coverage, and the scenery is delightful throughout the journey. We will follow the valley upwards, have lunch at Dajianbao, and set up camp at the Second Peak Base Camp in the evening. This segment of the trek requires a certain level of physical fitness, and it is recommended that team members with less stamina arrange for horses in advance to conserve energy for the summit attempt (horse riding fees are at your own expense).

At around 3:00 AM, rise for breakfast and set off. The list of climbers for the summit push will be determined based on the team members’ conditions. With the assistance of guides and support staff, the ascent will commence, and if conditions are favorable, the summit can be reached in approximately 4 hours. After celebrating and taking commemorative photos, carefully descend, which will take about 2-3 hours to return to the camp. From the base camp, head back to Siguniangshan Town and take a vehicle directly to Chengdu.
